OXNARD KEEPS A CLOSE EYE ON UNCLE PETE

: UNCLE PETE TALKS TO SHERMAN IN VITO-SAT 1 FROM THE DARK VAULT TRANSMITTER SITE

Join UNCLE PETE, OXNARD, and MAX as they head up to the DARK VAULT Transmitter Site this week to bring you the low-budget sci-fi thriller - The Eye Creatures. It seems there’s a flying saucer hanging around earth and the military is keeping an eye on it. But it turns out the first people who have contact with it are some teenagers who frequent a favorite make-out spot outside of town. It’s always good for a plot when teenagers spot the alien first, and these teenagers not only spot it first, but a couple of them wham into one with their car. But…nobody believes them (at least not for a while).

This 1965 American International release – directed by Larry Buchanan and starring John Ashley and Cynthia Hull – is a color remake of the 1957 film Invasion Of The Saucer Men and was never released to theaters but went straight to TV with a package of AIP television releases. Be sure to listen for the voice of Peter Graves as the uncredited narrator.

Meanwhile, back at The Dark Vault, UNCLE PETE and OXNARD enjoy some Barbecue sauce, read some viewer mail and have a few frosty cold beverages as they bring you a Bobby Vee video, a special on barbecuing and a whole bucket of trailers from the Dark Vault Transmitter located high above Lake Dark Vault. (side note – after a long and happy career, Bobby Vee has just announced his retirement. Happy Days Bobby!)

Four folks from the world of entertainment and sports who brought us joy and had an impact on our lives here in The Dark Vault Of Public Domain passed away recently:

Johnny Otis (90) – January 17

Etta James (73) – January 20

Joe Paterno (85) – January 22

James Farentino (73) – January 24.

Although we are saddened by their deaths, we will always remember their work.

UNCLE PETE ENJOYS SOME MOONERIFIC REFRESHMENTS

Wonder how to shake those winter blahs? Join UNCLE PETE this Saturday for a little moon tanning fun! Watch UNCLE PETE and EL VATO soak up some moonrays as they bring you this week’s feature from 1976 – Track Of The Moon Beast starring Chase Cordell and Leigh Drake. Cordell plays Paul G. Carlson, a rock hound who gets bonked in the head by a hunk of alien meteorite. Not long after, some of the locals, including one poor soul coming home from bowling, start turning up slashed and hacked and generally in a pretty unhealthy dead condition. And no known animal could have made those marks (except for maybe someof the guests at one of the DARK VAULT All-night shindigs). The only clue is some ancient American Indian paintings (always a good place to look for clues). Directed by Richard Ashe and co-written by Bill Finger whose writing credits also include episodes of the Batman TV series, 77 Sunset Strip and The Green Slime, it’s Track Of The Moon Beast!

Meanwhile, UNCLE PETE and Max enjoy the beautiful moonlit night and several moon related refreshments. So, break out a fresh jug of moonshine and bake up a moon pie (take one can of moon filling, poor into a frozen 9″ pie crust, cover with the second crust and bake for 35 minutes at 1200 degrees) and join UNCLE PETE Saturday (January 21, 2012) at 10PM on channel 4 for the next DARK VAULT OF PUBLIC DOMAIN!!! (Remember – always use Moonscreen, at least MPF -4.)

Raise your glasses high today on this the 60th anniversary of of the passing of Curly Howard! Not only do we have Curly’s death to remember this month, but January is a big month in Stooges history with the anniversary of the release of the Three Stooges’ last full-length feature film The Outlaws Is Coming (Jan. 14, 1965) and the 37th anniversary of Larry Fine’s death coming up on January 24th.

So raise your glasses and poke some eyes as we remember our favorite comedy trio today in The Dark Vault Of Public Domain!

UNIFORM OF THE DAY – PANCHOS – THIS WEEK IN THE DARK VAULT

Join UNCLE PETE and EL VATO this Saturday (January 14, 2012) as they venture into the realm of the Spaghetti Western for the brawl-packed, lead-flyin’ feature: It Can Be Done Amigo! From 1972, it stars Bud Spencer as Coburn, an affable, two-fisted drifter, and Jack Palance who not only happens to be the fastest gun in the west, but is also aimin’ to use his talents to get revenge on Coburn for besmirching (in the Biblical sense) the name of Palance’s sister – even though Coburn claims the besmirchin’ was just a misunderstanding. But to make the sauce, er, plot even thicker, a dying old man makes Coburn promise that he will see to it that the old man’s orphan nephew takes possession of the land he is leaving to the boy. Brawls, bullets and comic mayhem ensue in this great action flick from director Maurizio Lucidi.

Plus, UNCLE PETE demonstrates some of the dramatic eye twiches and cigar shiftin’ that legend has it he taught to Clint Eastwood just before Eastwood’s meteoric rise in the world of Spaghetti Westerns.

So grab your panchos, well chomped on cigars and put in a good supply of Pepe Lobrow ™ and barbecue spaghetti sauce for this Saturday night’s feature – It Can Be Done Amigo! – starting at 10PM on THE DARK VAULT OF PUBLIC DOMAIN!

This film, released barely 3 years after Bruce’s untimely and somewhat mysterious death, covers his life through the development of his skills, career and woldwide fame, Leaning more toward the myth, but with no shortage of action, the movie stars Bruce Li as Bruce Lee and Lynda Hirst as Bruce’s wife Linda.

Vito Gold Tickles The Ivories At The Dark Vault New Year's Eve Party

The year is coming to a close, and UNCLE PETE and the DARK VAULT gang are planning a big send off as usual. UNCLE PETE is slated to be the Grand Marshal of the annual New Year’s Eve Parade in Stockton, California. Unfornately, the Clones made the travel arrangements and UNCLE PETE is headed to Stockton, Canada instead. But fear not, UNCLE PETE will be bringing you all the festivities, celebrations and the parade from the other Stockton, anyway. Plus, there’ll be that annual DARK VAULT New Year’s Eve Tradition – the Dropping Of The Lighted Rat at midnight to usher in the new year (or at least the new year in Dark Vault time).
And, as usual, UNCLE PETE will be bringing you some choice bits of cinema including a Three Stooges short and the feature presentation – Pride Of The Bowery with Leo Gorcey and Bobby Jordan.

Well folks, it’s that time of the year again! UNCLE PETE and the Clones have been busy as elves decorating THE DARK VAULT BOILER ROOM for the annual CHRISTMAS FESTIVITIES! There’ll be trees to trim, presents to open, and VITO GOLD will have a couple of great gift ideas that youse needs to buy!
Plus we’ll have a gift wrapped package of presentations including some seasonal cartoons and shorts and this week’s feature – the all-time CHRISTMAS CLASSIC that’ll tug at your heart strings (or maybe just cause heart burn) – the ever popular SANTA CLAUS CONQUERS THE MARTIANS! Seems Christmas might not be just for earthlings anymore. It’s a holiday extravaganza jammed packed with green men, ray guns, monsters, toys and Santa Claus himself!
