Lux Interior (1946-2009) R. I. P.
His love for Ghoulardi is evidenced in numerous songs, and an entire
generation of punks probably think “The Cramps,” when you utter, “Turn
Blue,” and, “Stay Sick,” but Lux would be the first to express his
love for Ernie Anderson’s horror hosting legend, from whom the morbidly humorous phrases originated.
THE CRAMPS’ music was featured in the awesome, original RETURN OF
THE LIVING DEAD, and under his birth name, Eric Purkhiser, he made
cash on the side doing ADR work, lending his signature howls to
films like BRAM STOKER’S DRACULA (the Coppola version).
