It’s time to save the earth and break out the power tools this Saturday with UNCLE PETE in THE DARK VAULT OF PUBLIC DOMAIN.  Join UNCLE PETE and EL VATO as they discuss re-re-re…re-building the DARK VAULT and bring you the feature presentation – Killers From Space!  Before he undertook Impossible Missions, Peter Graves stared here as Dr. Douglas Martin (yeah, that’s right, Doc Martin), an atomic scientist who crashes in his plane while taking some readings around a recent atomic test site.  He’s found wandering  around soon after with no recollection of what happened and a mysterious scar on his chest.  The FBI, suspicious of atomic scientists with memory loss and strange scars,  takes him off his project.  Angered, Martin steals some data sheets, takes off and crashes his car (an obvious bad insurance risk kinda guy).  Under a dose of truth serum, he recollects being captured by aliens who plan to take over the Earth using huge bugs and lizards made atomic energy gathered from the tests.  There are gigantic crawly things and bug-eyed aliens a-plenty in this 1954 release also starring Barbara Bester as Ellen Martin.

Directed by W. Lee Wilder and written by his son Miles (who also had a hand in many classic TV shows including McHale’s Navy and CPO Sharkey), this film was so excited about its future showing on The Dark Vault Of Public Domain that it got itself re-released in 1956.

Meanwhile, back at the Vault, UNCLE PETE and El Vato discuss the rebuilding plans of the Dark Vault and ring you a short called Wings for Roger Windstar.  And then it’s out to the Dark Vault Transmitter storage-shack/woodshop/woodshed/smokehouse for a little woodcraft and power saw fun.  Who knows what will emerge from that combination!

It’s sawdust, sharp objects, egg-shell eyed aliens and giant reptiles this Saturday, February 4, 2012, at 10PM on channel 4, as UNCLE PETE presents Killers From Space on the next DARK VAULT OF PUBLIC DOMAIN!!!
