UNCLE PETE DOES AN UN-BUILD OF THE DARK VAULT HOT ROD

Since it’s Hot Rod Rock And Roll Month in THE DARK VAULT OF PUBLIC DOMAIN, it’s the perfect time for an appearance by Dark Vault Hot Rod.   So join UNCLE PETE as he dives into some engine work and digs up the 1960 counterculture hot rod film – The Wild Ride.  It stars Georgianna Carter, Robert Bean, Carol Bigby, and Jack Nicholson. Nicholson is a hard-nosed anti-society dirt track racer who loves partying and rebelling and being on top – no matter what the cost to others. There’s chickie runs, drinkin’, fightin’ and all sorts of mayhem in director Harvey Berman’ s The Wild Ride.

Meanwhile, UNCLE PETE hits the Dark Vault Garage to try to find out why the Dark Vault Hot Rod is not performing like it should. Along the way he finds time to bring you some short features including the 1954 Popeye car-toon Taxi Turvy and there’s our favorite cartoon cutie – Betty Boop – hoppin’ in her race car (with a cold) in Ker Choo. Plus, we’ve got some good advice for all you JD Hot Rodders out there in Road Runners.

CHICKEN SOUP AND CARBURETORS DON’T MIX

Although the Dark Vault Hot Rod isn’t back on the road yet, we are making progress now that we’ve eliminated a first class loser from the restoration process.  Pieces are going back on instead of getting destroyed, so the DVHR will ride again.  But in the meantime, join UNCLE PETE and the pre-restored Dark Vault Hot Rod this Saturday night, August 10, 2013 from 10PM to midnight on channel 4 as we bring you The Wild Ride, the next feature presentation on THE DARK VAULT OF PUBLIC DOMAIN!

  1. Hey, Uncle Pete!

Is the DVHR any relation to the yellow ‘bird circa 1981?

    Cousin Matt

    • Cousin Matt!!! A real blast from the past! I haven’t seen you since you were swallowed by that Neptunian Seablorg many years ago!
Yes, the DVHR is related to the yellow ‘bird you remember. The original bird was transported to an interdimensional park and ride as the result of an unfortunate experiment. I was however able to capture her essence, and after 20 years of intensive work have cloned her in her present form. She still tends to want to park on the lawn in front of fraternity houses and drive over footbridges, though.
