TIME FOR THE ANNUAL 78RPM EXTRAVAGANZA
Here it is January again. It seems to happen every year – just like the annual Uncle Pete Show Jazz Of The 20s, 30s, and 40s Special. It happens this Friday, January 17, 2014 from 4PM til 7PM. But as usual, the festivities will get under way a bit sooner with some old radio serials – maybe an adventure or comedy – to get the airwaves just right for the music. Then it’s nothing but music from the 1920s through the 1940s and maybe one or two or three from the 1900 to 1920 era as well until at least 7PM. Where? In the Binghamton area tune to WHRW 90.5 on your FM dial. And if you’re far away (or even not so far) you can listen at http://www.whrwfm.org. Requests are always welcome (if they fit the time period) and can be made at 607-777-2137 or through an IM or by carrier pigeon or messenger beagle.
So turn on those radios early to get those tubes all warmed up and turn on those computers even earlier cuz I hear they have even more tubes than radios these days. It’s The Annual Uncle Pete Show Jazz Of The 20s, 30s, and 40s Special this Friday afternoon. See you on the radio!
