AN UNCLE PETE BY ANY OTHER NAME (WOULD CONFUSE OUR MAILMAN)
It’s Italian Horse Opera time this week for UNCLE PETE in THE DARK VAULT OF PUBLIC DOMAIN as he brings you the action Trinity Is Still My Name. We start with a look at the home life of our duo – Bud Spencer (Bambino) and Terrence Hill (Trinity) – and their dear old Dad (Harry Carey Jr.). When Trinity returns home, he gets the cold shoulder cuz Dad found out about his boy disgracing the family name by giving away a herd of 30 horses that he had appropriated from an unfortunate bad guy (in the previous movie, Trinity).
Dad is stricken by some sort of attack (probably brought on by Trinity’s act of charity) and makes the boys promise him on his death-bed to restore the family pride by becoming good, successful outlaws. Spying a traveling farmer’s family and their stranded wagon, they plan to fulfill their promise to Dad by robbing the sod-busters but wind up helping fix the wagon (with the use of Bambino’s Popeye like muskles). When Trinity takes a shine to the farmer’s daughter (Yanti Somer), the brothers travel with the family to town, get all duded up, engage in some brawling, card sharping, and fancy gun play and somehow get people to believe that they’re federal agents. They discover a big time bandit terrorizing the area is stashing his booty in a nearby monastery, a fact that leads to yet more Trinity type fightin’ and funnin’. Directed by Enzo Barboni, it’s the 1971 feature Trinity Is Still My Name.
Meanwhile, UNCLE PETE is moving in high gear back at the DARK VAULT. El Vato has gotten into the dynamite and that’s never a good things. So join UNCLE PETE this Saturday, September 5, 2015 from 10PM to midnight (and again at midnight and 2AM) on channel 4 in Binghamton, channel 99 in Elmira/Corning/Hornell and channel 17 in Sayre/Montrose.
