UNCLE PETE AND SAMMY COUNT TO TWO – AND BEYOND – THIS WEEK IN THE DARK VAULT CRYPT

It’s May 4th and we know there’s some kind of saying that goes with this day (maybe Quatro de Mayo?).  But while we ponder that – you can ponder this – it’ Double Feature Day at THE DARK VAULT OF PUBLIC DOMAIN  this Saturday night!!!  Spend the evening with UNCLE PETE for two action packed thrillers, well, two movies anyway!

First up, it’s Beast Of Yucca Flats starring that popular pin-up boy, Tor Johnson, as a Russian defector who wanders into the blast zone of an atomic bomb test. He gets a bit mutated and croaks a few of the locals.  Directed by Coleman Francis, this movie used the groundbreaking technique of being filmed entirely without a soundtrack.  They used to call those films “silent movies”, but in this case we just call it cheap.  All sounds and dialogue were added afterwards (you may notice that you never actually see anyone talking).  Also starring Douglas Mellor, Barbara Francis and Bing Stafford, it’s the 1961 low-budget classic, Beast Of Yucca Flats.

The second serving of stuff stars a man who was an Olympic swimmer, Flash Gordon, Buck Rogers, Tarzan, and numerous B western heroes – Buster Crabbe in Fugitive Of The Plains.   A gang doing crimes points the finger square at Buster (in his frequent role as Billy the Kid), so he and sidekick Al “Fuzzy” St. John set out to clear their names.  Directed by Sam Newfield, it also stars Maxine Leslie and features seasoned western side men Kermit Maynard (Ken’s brother) as Spence and George Cheesbro as Baxter.  It’s the 1943 horse opera, Fugitive Of The Plains.

UNCLE PETE and Sammy are wandering in the Dark Vault Crypt and with all its unexplored passages – some that appear to have been excavated from below – this always proves for an interesting stroll.  Tune in this Saturday, May 4, 2019 on channel 1301 in Binghamton, Sayre/Montrose, Elmira/Corning/Hornell and northern PA and southern NY, channel 99 in Utica/Rome (the show is definitely returning to Utica/Rome either this week or next at the latest!!!), channel 30 in The North Country and channel 2 in the tri-lakes area (Champlain, Saranac, and Tupper) and Cortland County areas from 10PM to midnight (replay at midnight) and channel 13 in the Ithaca area at 9PM and midnight).  UNCLE PETE lights up the screen with fireworks galore in the form of six-gun shootin’ and atom bomb blastin’ just in time for the Fourth (May 4th).  It’s Beast Of Yucca Flats and Fugitive Of The Plains on the next DARK VAULT OF PUBLIC DOMAIN!

(And for all our ROKU viewers, tune in to Beta Max TV for a trip from the Bowery to a haunted house and murder with Boys Of The City)
