THE REAL MASTER OF ADVERTISING!

You may have noticed over the past weeks that advertising has occasionally appeared amidst THE DARK VAULT OF PUBLIC DOMAIN entries.  These ads are placed by WordPress, com and are not the results of any requests or actions on the part of THE DARK VAULT OF PUBLIC DOMAIN.  For over 10 years now, WordPress.com has provided a stable and dependable platform through which UNCLE PETE and the rest of the Dark Vault gang have been able to bring you all the news, information , and wackiness that relates to The Dark Vault and The Uncle Pete Show.  And we thank them for that.  As for the advertising, they have the right to place ads at their discretion, and we are aware of and accept that fact.  But we just want all our viewers, readers, and listeners to know that the placement and content of these advertisements does not necessarily reflect the opinions, either actual or implied, of any of the staff, management, performing, experimenting, human, or non-human members of the DARK VAULT OF PUBLIC DOMAIN.

Thank You for your continued support!

UNCLE PETE BRAVES THE ELEMENTS THIS WEEK!

The weather says summer.  The calendar says fall.  We say – “Who cares!  It’s Dark Vault Time!!!”  Join UNCLE PETE this Saturday as he takes you from the frozen north to the steamy jungle and throws in a gorilla and beer just for fun.  First, it’s off to the frozen Yukon with The Fatal Glass Of Beer.  Written by and starring comedic genius W.C. Fields (as Mr. Snavely), it chronicles – with song and flashback –  the sad story of son Chester Snavely (George Chandler) who left his rural, snowbound home for the big city where he succumbed (succamed?) to the evils of hard drink and ran afoul of the law.  Filled with intentionally overly dramatic acting, a legendary gloved zither performance, and non-stop gags – especially involving the words “not a fit night out for man or beast” – it’s The Fatal Glass Of Beer (1933)!

Next, grab your pith helmets cuz it’s off to deepest, darkest Africa for our feature from 1949, Abbott and Costello in Africa Screams!  When Buzz Johnson (Bud Abbott) overhears Diana Emerson (played by gorgeous Hillary Brooke) say she will pay big bucks for a lost map created by a legendary African explorer, he decides to pass off his friend Stanley Livington (Lou Costello) as an explorer who accompanied the creator of the map.  But once in Africa, Buzz discovers that the real goal of the expedition is to find a fortune in diamonds.  along the way, Buzz and Stanley stumble onto the diamonds and a village of hungry cannibals and Stanley rescues a gorilla who becomes his fast friend after that.  This film has a very famous – in a non-film way – cast including champion professional boxers Max and Buddy Baer and two guys who were no strangers to Africa and wild beasties – hunter/collector Frank Buck and legendary animal trainer Clyde Beatty.  There are also a couple other comedy legends found here, namely two of the Three Stooges – Shemp Howard and Joe Besser – in their only appearance together.  Also, it’s the first time Abbott and Costello appeared with Joe Besser and Hillary Brooke (later regulars on their TV show).  Directed by Charles Barton, it’s Africa Screams!

NO MERE STORM CAN STOP THE DARK VAULT!

UNCLE PETE and Max are deep in the Control Room of THE DARK VAULT, safe from the raging Yukon snow storm – or so they think until a bit of a blizzard kicks up.  But despite the Arctic conditions, UNCLE PETE still manages to dig up a drift of trailers and fun bits.  So tune in this Saturday, September 23, 2017 from 10PM to midnight (with replays at midnight and 2AM) on channel 4 (Binghamton), 17 (Montrose/Sayre), 99 (Elmira/Corning/Hornell and Utica/Rome) and 30 in the North Country (Watertown/Champlain/Ogdensburg/Malone/Massena) and on channel 2 in our newest viewing area around the Tupper and Saranac Lake areas .  From tundra to the jungle, it’s The Fatal Glass Of Beer and Africa Screams on the next DARK VAULT OF PUBLIC DOMAIN!

(And for all you Roku users, don’t forget to tune in to The DVOPD on Beta Max TV this Friday for some horse ridin’, swamp sloshin’ scary action with Swamp Of The Lost Monster, brand new starting this Friday!)

UNCLE PETE JAMS WITH ARCH HALL JR. THIS WEEK

UNCLE PETE JAMS WITH ARCH HALL JR. THIS WEEK

It’s Rock, Roll, and Action this week as UNCLE PETE brings out a way out, wild classic this week on THE DARK VAULT OF PUBLIC DOMAIN!  It’s the 1962 Ray Dennis Steckler gem – Wild Guitar.  Arch Hall Jr. stars as Bud Eagle, an aspiring singer/song writer who has hopped on his motorcycle and headed to Holllllllywood (gotta put 6 or 7 L’s in there cuz everything’s big out there).  He meets aspiring dancer Vickie (Nancy Czar) at a diner (where else), and she’s decides to help get him on the right track to stardom.  After he wow’s ’em on a variety show, agent Mike McCauley (Arch Hall, Sr.) takes Bud under his wing and zooms him into the stratosphere in like no time, Jack!!!  But McCauley is a no-good, shifty, unscrupulous agent (a rarity in Hollywood) and Bud tries to break ties with the agent, although henchman Steak (Ray Dennis Steckler, billed as Cash Flagg) might have something to say about that.  To complicate matters even some more yet, three barely ept thugs from the diner decide to kidnap Bud.  There’s intrigue, romance, comedy, a little ice skating, and a whole bunch of rockin’.  From 1962, it’s Wild Guitar.

But, there’s more!  UNCLE PETE, back in THE DARK VAULT CONTROL ROOM, has found a 1937, Duane Esper directed bit of educational film called How To Undress, an early exploitation short that was far more risqué then than it turns out to be now.  There are also trailers galore!  And besides causing some destruction, UNCLE PETE breaks out the wild ukulele for a couple musical interludes.  So tune in this Saturday night, September 16, 2017 from 10PM to midnight (with replays at midnight and 2AM) in Binghamton on channel 4, Sayre/Montrose on channel 17, Corning/Hornell/Elmora and Utica/Rome on channel 99 and all over the north country (Watertown/Malone/Massena/Ogdensburg/Champlain) on channel 30.  And welcome to all our newest viewers in the Tupper and Saranac Lake areas who now can watch us on channel 2!!!  It’ll be an action packed rockin’ good time with Wild Guitar, the next feature presentation on THE DARK VAULT OF PUBLIC DOMAIN!!!

UNCLE PETE POWERS UP THE PORTAL SPECTRAL DISEMBOBULATOR (TM) FOR A DOUBLE FEATURE

UNCLE PETE POWERS UP THE PORTAL SPECTRAL DISEMBOBULATOR (TM) FOR A DOUBLE FEATURE

It’s time for another appearance of the Official Dark Vault Viewer as UNCLE PETE brings you two, count ’em, two brand new features this week in THE DARK VAULT OF PUBLIC DOMAIN!  First up is the action music crime drama Postal Inspector from 1936.  It stars Hollywood fright legend, Bela Lugosi, as Gregory Benez, a shifty nightclub owner who has rung up a scary big gambling debt.  When Benez learns from recently hired singer Connie Larrimore (Patricia Ellis) that there is a 3 million dollar shipment of old money being transported from a nearby flooded area, he decides to grab it to pay off his debt.  But Charlie Davis (Michael Loring) – Connie’s sweetie and from whence she found out about the money shipment – happens to be the brother of Postal Inspector William Davis (Ricardo Cortez) and is overseeing this loot.  There’s a big heist, intrigue, a speedboat chase and lots more action.  Directed by Otto Brower and also starring Hattie McDaniel as Deborah, it’s Postal Inspector.

Then it’s flying lead and flying fists in the 1943 western classic, Bullets and Saddles.  The Range Busters – Ray “Crash” Corrigan, Dennis Moore, and Max “Alibi” Terhune – are called to action and wind up in the middle of cattle rustling and murder.  Bad guy Jack Hammond (Gunsmoke’s Glenn Strange) is masterminding a bunch of rustling.  He’s also after the Craig ranch.  Charlie Craig (Budd Buster) tells the local law that if the rustling and other unseemly crimes don’t get stopped, he’s going to organize some vigilantes.  Hammond sets up Charlie to be framed for murder.  Ma Craig calls in the Range Busters and the detectin’ and solvin’ begins.  Also starring Elmer as Max Terhune’s dummy, it’s Bullets and Saddles.

UNCLE PETE, El Vato, and Stone Dog and taking care of business back at the DARK VAULT as usual for this world premier double feature.  So tune in this Saturday night, September 9, 2017 from 10PM to midnight on channel 4 in the Binghamton area, channel 17 in Montrose/Sayre and surrounding areas, and channel 99 in Elmira/Hornell/Corning and Utica/Rome and channel 30 in the North Country (Ogdensburg/Watertown/Malone/Champlain/Massena) with replays at midnight and 2AM.  And make sure to listen for the smash hit song We’ll Have Bluebirds On All Our Wallpaper!  It’s Postal Inspector and Bullets and Saddles on the next DARK VAULT OF PUBLIC DOMAIN!!!
