UNCLE PETE TALKS CHICKEN AND HAIR PRODUCTS THIS WEEK

UNCLE PETE TALKS CHICKEN AND HAIR PRODUCTS AND LOVE THIS WEEK

Neither pork chops nor lamb chops are om the menu at THE DARK VAULT OF PUBLIC DOMAIN this Saturday.  But we’ve got karate chops galore as UNCLE PETE brings you the 1980 family fun action movie – Karate Kids, U.S.A.  Ol’ Grandpa J.J. and his karate kickin’ grandsons Zack and Woody (Chris and Pat Petersen) head out on a road trippin’ vacation where they meet new friend Carol (Sally Boyden).  Carol also meets some backwoods baddies – scheming Angel (played by 50s and 60s TV and movie hottie Ann Southern) and Angel’s goofball sons.  They kidnap Carol and hold her for lots of ransom.  So Zack, Woody, and J.J. come to the rescue.  It’s karate galore, a biker gang, and lots of 70’s cars, chases, clothes and humor in this film directed by Curtis Hanson.  Originally titled The Little Dragons, but changed to show that they had more karate kids here than in that other just released movie called The Karate Kid, it’s Karate Kids, U.S.A.

THE SUN GETS TOUGH WITH BOORISH JOHNNY

UNCLE PETE TALKS TO SHERMAN IN VITO-SAT 1 FROM THE DARK VAULT TRANSMITTER SITE

We here at The Dark Vault Of Public Domain have learned that you never know who might be watching – and with what size eyes!  Join UNCLE PETE, OXNARD, and MAX  as they broadcast from the DARK VAULT Transmitter Site this week to bring you the low-budget sci-fi thriller – The Eye Creatures.  The military is keeping an “eye” on a flying saucer that’s cruising earth.  But the people who make contact are the B-movie world’s staples for alien contacting – teenagers who frequent a favorite secluded “parking”area.  And by contact, we mean a couple of them wham into one with their car.  And guess what – nobody believes them (at least not for a while).

Directed by Larry Buchanan and starring John Ashley and Cynthia Hull – this 1965 release is a color remake of the 1957 film Invasion Of The Saucer Men and was never released to theaters but went straight to TV as part of a package from American International Pictures.  Be sure to listen for the voice of Peter Graves as the uncredited narrator.

Meanwhile, back at The Dark Vault, UNCLE PETE and OXNARD enjoy some Barbecue sauce, read some viewer mail and have a few frosty cold beverages as they bring you a Bobby Vee video, a special on barbecuing and a whole bucket of trailers from the Dark Vault Transmitter located high above Lake Dark Vault.

So grab a bucket of  BBQ sauce and a beverage and join UNCLE PETE for The Eye Creatures, this Saturday, January 26, 2019 at 10PM (with a replay at midnight) on channel 1301 in Binghamton, Corning/Hornell/Elmira, southern NY and northern PA. channel 00 around Utica/Rome, channel 30 in the North Country and channel 2 around the Saranac, Champlain and Tupper Lake areas and for all of Cortland County.  Channel 13 at 9PM and midnight is the place and time in Ithaca. Someone (or something) will be watching for you this week on THE DARK VAULT OF PUBLIC DOMAIN!

(And the new show this week at Beta Max TV (on the Roku system) is Little Rita Of The West.)

UNCLE PETE, STONE DOG, AND OL' POTMETAL SETTLE IN A LUXURY SUITE FOR SOME CLASSIC WESTERNS

UNCLE PETE, STONE DOG, AND OL’ POTMETAL SETTLE IN A LUXURY SUITE FOR SOME CLASSIC WESTERNS

Dust off that Stetson and soap up that saddle cuz it’s time to ride the range with UNCLE PETE and his trusty steed Ol’ Potmetal  as they bring you The Classic Television Spectacular – Part III on this week’s DARK VAULT OF PUBLIC DOMAIN!!!.  We’ll ride with Bat Masterson (Gene Barry) and guest stars William (Frank Cannon) Conrad and James (Roscoe P. Coltrane) Best as Bat moseys into a tent city just about to hold a necktie party.  But the guest of honor might be innocent so Bat steps in and gunplay and brawlin’ ensue in Stampede In Tent City.

For hard ridin’, straight shootin’, and suspense, you can’t beat the First Gal of The Old West –  Annie Oakley (Gail Davis).  At least that’s what the intro tells us!  Gail, a frequent co-star of Gene Autry , appeared in 81 episodes along with her horse Target, lawman Lofty Cragg (Brad Johnson), and little brother Tag (Jimmy Hawkins) from 1954 through 1957.  Here in Shadow At Sonoma  (1956), there’s trouble at the county fair as Annie spots a dead ringer for Lofty who ain’t no straight shooter.

Next we add a little color (literally) with an episode of The Cisco Kid.  The “Robin Hood Of The Old West” came to TV from radio in 1950 with Duncan Renaldo as Cisco and Leo Carrillo as his sidekick Pancho.  Each week they and their horses Diablo and Loco righted wrongs, helped the unfortunate and rescued the put-upon.  In this episode Cisco and Pancho face bushwhackers, murderers, and some spooky stuff in Ghost Story.

ROY ROGERS AND TRIGGER IN PURSUIT

ROY ROGERS AND TRIGGER IN PURSUIT

Then it’s the King Of The Cowboys – Roy Rogers (played by Roy Rogers).  Roy, horse Trigger, dog Bullet, sweetie Dale Evans – Queen Of The West, Dale’s horse Buttermilk and comic sidekick Pat Brady with his jeep Nellie Belle rode the range finding bad guys and helping out folks that needed help.  The show aired from 1951  to 1957. In this episode, Roy and his gang help little Lucy who has just lost her Mommy and whose Daddy has a price on his head for some hanky panky at the banky, er bank.   Roy must prove Lucy’s Daddy isn’t an outlaw before the law or the bad guys settle his hash first.  It’s Unwilling Outlaw on The Roy Rogers Show.

UNCLE PETE, having just vaporized the ice off Lake Dark Vault, finds time for a little fishing for some of the Lake’s interesting creatures.  There’s also some viewer mail.  It’s fast six-guns, horses, action aplenty and a little Happy Trails To You this Saturday, January 19, 2019 from 10PM to midnight (with a replay at midnight) on channel 1301  for the areas in and around Binghamton, (Elmira/Corning/Hornell, Sayre/Montrose, northern PA and southern NY, channel 30 throughout the North Country (Watertown/Malone/Masena/Ogdensburg/Plattsburgh), channel 2 for the Saranac/Champlain/Tupper Lakes area and Cortland County and channel 99 for the Utica/Rome area.  In Ithaca the show times are 9pm and midnight on channel 13.  Join UNCLE PETE, Stone Dog, and Ol’ Potmetal as they bring you the Classic TV Spectacular Pt.III – Western style – on the next DARK VAULT OF PUBLIC DOMAIN!I

UNCLE PETE FIRES UP THE SPECTRAL DISEMBOBULATOR (tm) FOR A NIGHT OF MUSIC, MONSTERS, AND MAYHEM!

UNCLE PETE FIRES UP THE SPECTRAL DISEMBOBULATOR ™ FOR A NIGHT OF MUSIC, MONSTERS, AND MAYHEM!

The cold, gray, and dreary gettin’ to you?  Join UNCLE PETE a dancin’, surfin’, music-filled monster party on THE DARK VAULT OF PUBLIC DOMAIN!  First up is UNCLE PETE’S Music Picks,  a video jukebox with many rare videos from China, Japan, Canada, and the good ol’ USA – rockabilly, punk, and classics from the likes of Johnny Cash, D.O.A., and others including a video from the Bastards Of Imperialism whose lead singer wrote the theme song for THE DARK VAULT OF PUBLIC DOMAIN (as performed by The Nation Of Salami).

Then we head to the beach for lots of surfin’, dancin. and eatin’ (of the surfers and dancers) in The Beach Girls And The Monster.  Famed oceanographer (that’s like a fish doctor) Dr. Otto Lindsay (John Hall) is kind of a bigamist – married to his research and younger and good lookin’ Vicky (Sue Casey) too.  Vicky is upset with the Doctor’s lack of attention to her.  The Doctor’s upset with his surf-crazy son Richard (Arnold Lessing).  And the beach monster is upset because he’s hungry.  And some beach-goers look mighty tasty!  The doctor says the monster is a giant mutated carnivorous South American fish that comes on shore to feed.  But does the monster have a work visa or even a passport???  With direction and cinematography also from Jon Hall, music by the Illusions, and a theme song (Dance Baby Dance) written by Frank Sinatra Jr., from 1965, it’s The Beach Girls And The Monster.

UNCLE PETE is well self-contained in the Dark Vault Control Room where he computerizes up some spiffy music videos and a whole bunch of trailers and great commercials including spots for the Tiger and Swingin’ Cat Electric Guitars and the Big Bash drum by Emenee (Jumpin’ Jiminy! It’s By Emenee!).  So tune in this Saturday night, January 12, 2019, from 10PM to midnight (with replays at midnight) on channel 1301 in Binghamton, Hornell/Corning/Elmira, Montrose/Sayre, northern PA and southern NY, channel 99 for Utica/ Rome, channel 30 in the whole north country of New York State, and channel 2 for Cortland County and the Saranac, Champlain, and Tupper Lakes area  Watch the goodness on channel 13 in Ithaca at 9pm and midnight.  It’s UNCLE PETE’S Music Picks followed by The Beach Girls And The Monster on the next DARK VAULT OF PUBLIC DOMAIN!!!

(And this week on Beta Max TV (https://www.facebook.com/BetaMaxTV/, www,betamaxtv.com) on all Roku TVs and devices, it the action drama with a big dose of comedy and music – Cop In Drag)

GLOBAL TREKKING WITH UNCLE PETE…AND A BEER!!!

UNCLE PETE BRAVES THE ELEMENTS THIS WEEK!

It’s gettin’ chilly but there ain’t no snow outside the DARK VAULT, so we’re gonna head up north for some flurries (and a beer) then back down south for some diamonds (and a gorilla).   Join UNCLE PETE for a film tour this Saturday – first, off to the Yukon with The Fatal Glass Of Beer.  Written by and starring comedic genius W.C. Fields (as Mr. Snavely), it chronicles – with song and flashback –  the sad story of son Chester Snavely (George Chandler) who left his rural, snowbound home for the big city where he succumbed (succamed?) to the evils of hard drink.  Filled with dramatic acting like you read about (if you read the right books), a legendary gloved zither performance, and non-stop gags – especially involving the words “it ain’t a fit night out for man or beast” – it’s The Fatal Glass Of Beer (1933)!

Next, it’s pith helmets on, UNCLE PETE and off to deepest, darkest Africa for our feature with Abbott and Costello in Africa Screams (1949)!  When shady lady Diana Emerson (the gorgeous Hillary Brooke) says she’ll pay big bucks for a lost map created by a legendary African explorer, Buzz Johnson (Bud Abbott) passes off his friend Stanley Livington (Lou Costello) as an explorer who accompanied the creator of the map.  But Buzz discovers the real goal of the expedition is to find a fortune in diamonds and by sheer dumb luck (the best kind) Buzz and Stanley find the diamonds first, along with a village of hungry cannibals.   Fortunately, Stanley’s new gorilla friend just might be able to help.  This famous folks in this film include boxing legends Max and Buddy Baer, two guys familiar with the real Africa and wild beasties – hunter/collector Frank Buck and legendary animal trainer Clyde Beatty, and comedy legends Shemp Howard and Joe Besser in their only appearance together.  Also, it’s the first time Abbott and Costello appeared with Joe Besser and Hillary Brooke, regulars on their TV show.  Directed by Charles Barton, it’s Africa Screams!

NO MERE STORM CAN STOP THE DARK VAULT!

UNCLE PETE and Max are in the Control Room of THE DARK VAULT, safe from the raging Yukon snow storm – or so they think until a bit of a blizzard kicks up.  But despite the Arctic conditions, UNCLE PETE still manages to dig up a drift of trailers and fun bits.  So tune in this Saturday, January 5, 2019 from 10PM to midnight (with a replay at midnight) on channel 1301 (Binghamton, Montrose/Sayre, Elmira/Corning/Hornell), channel 99 for the Utica/Rome area, channel 30 in the North Country (Watertown/Champlain/Ogdensburg/Malone/Massena) and channel 2 in Cortland County and the tri-lakes area (Tupper, Champlain, and Saranac).  And in Ithaca, watch us on channel 13 at 9PM and midnight!  From tundra to the jungle, it’s The Fatal Glass Of Beer and Africa Screams on the next DARK VAULT OF PUBLIC DOMAIN!

(And this week on Beta Max TV on all Roku devices and TVs, it’s the Silent Movie Spectacular!!!)

A NEW YEAR’S EVE PARTY AND PARADE WITH UNCLE PETE!!!

UNCLE PETE GOES LIVE ON LOCATION FOR NEW YEAR'S EVE

UNCLE PETE GOES LIVE ON LOCATION FOR NEW YEAR’S EVE

Get prepared proper-like for the new year with a rousing viewing of the annual DARK VAULT OF PUBLIC DOMAIN NEW YEAR’S EVE CELEBRATION SPECIAL!  Join UNCLE PETE as he once again assumes the role of this year’s Grand Marshall of the Stockton, California New Year’s Eve Parade and Festival with a LIVE broadcast from the parade and the site of all the festivities.  But DARK VAULT travel arrangements rarely put UNCLE PETE where he expects to be, so we’ll see what happens.  Nevertheless, UNCLE PETE has some great festivities of our own planned for THE DARK VAULT and all our viewers.

Our feature takes us down to the Bowery for the East Side Kids in Pride Of The Bowery.  Muggs (Leo Gorcey) has a chance to be the Golden Gloves Boxing Champion, but he doesn’t like training in the gang’s stuffy old gym.  Danny (Bobby Jordan) and the gang trick Muggs into signing up for a CCC Camp (no, that’s not a 300 Camp in Roman numerals, that’s a Civilian Conservation Corps Camp) where Muggs will get plenty of training and they’ll all make a few bucks to send home to Ma.  But things are never quite that simple for Muggs as we soon find out.  Also with David Gorcey as Peewee, Donald Haines as Skinny and Sunshine Sammy Morrison as Scruno, from 1940 it’s Pride of the Bowery.

COUNT DOWN TO THE NEW YEAR WITH THE TRADITIONAL DROPPING OF THE LIGHTED RAT

COUNT DOWN TO THE NEW YEAR WITH THE TRADITIONAL DROPPING OF THE LIGHTED RAT

But before the feature hits the screen, UNCLE PETE kicks things off with the Little Rascals – in The Pooch, where Stymie and Petey the Dog (perhaps the only dog to ever have been made up by Max Factor himself) run afoul of the evil dog catcher.  Then we’ll stop by the tailor shop where altercations are a specialty with Moe, Larry and Shemp in Sing A Song Of Six Pants.  And join in the countdown for the annual Dropping of the Lighted Rat (Times Square ain’t got nothin’ on us).   This year we’ve coordinated the rat to drop almost exactly somewhere around actual midnight!  Plus, make sure to stay for the special presentation of this year’s segment of famous friends we lost this year and some extra special greetings, messages and music at the end of the show.  And it’s Oxnard’s screen debut too!

So chill that bubbly, cut up some confetti and join UNCLE PETE, Vitobot ™, VITO GOLD, and the Clones this Saturday, December 28, 2018 from 10PM to midnight on channel 1301 in the Binghamton area, Montrose/Sayre, PA, and Elmira/Corning/Hornell, channel 99 Utica/Rome, channel 2 in Cortland County and the Champlain/Saranac/Tupper Lake areas and on channel 30 for all our viewers in the North Country (Champlain/Ogdensburg/Malone/Massena/Watertown) with late-night replays at midnight.  And in Ithaca on channel 13 at 9pm and midnight.  It’s a fun-filled, action packed New Year’s Eve episode with UNCLE PETE live on location on the next DARK VAULT OF PUBLIC DOMAIN!  (And for all you Roku watchers of Beta Max TV, you can catch the Spectacular over there all week too!)

UNCLE PETE AND OXNARD SHARE SOME CHRISTMAS TRADITIONS AT THE DARK VAULT RESEARCH FACILITY

UNCLE PETE AND OXNARD SHARE SOME CHRISTMAS TRADITIONS AT THE DARK VAULT RESEARCH FACILITY

Saturday is Christmas Eve Eve Eve!  And in keeping with the festivities, on this week’s THE DARK VAULT OF PUBLIC DOMAIN, UNCLE PETE and his trusty sidekick OXNARD present the fourth part of our month-long Christmas party – the 1959 classic – SANTA CLAUS.  Made entirely in Mexico (the obvious place to make a movie about Santa Claus), this gem reveals some of the previously unknown secrets of Santa’s workshop and how he manages that annual trip bringing joy to all the world’s good girls and boys.

SANTA GETS READY FOR HIS ANNUAL TRIP 'ROUND THE WORLD

SANTA GETS READY FOR HIS ANNUAL TRIP ‘ROUND THE WORLD

But Santa has more than delivering toys and foggy nights to worry about this year.  The devil doesn’t like Christmas so he sends Pitch, one of his henchmen, to foul up things for Santa.  It’s a battle of good versus evil with some science, a little magic and a large dose of fun in UNCLE PETE’s favorite Santa Claus movie.  Made in 1959 and released in the U.S.A. a few years later, it’s SANTA CLAUS.

UNCLE PETE AND OXNARD SHARE SOME CHRISTMAS GOODIES BEFORE THE TRIP BACK TO THE VAULT

UNCLE PETE AND OXNARD SHARE SOME CHRISTMAS GOODIES BEFORE THE TRIP BACK TO THE VAULT

UNCLE PETE and OXNARD were working on some experiments and observing a few DARK VAULT Christmas traditions at a remote research facility and are heading back to the DARK VAULT for the annual Boiler Room Christmas Party.  Except, the research facility is so remote that UNCLE PETE isn’t sure how to get back there.  So it’s up to the miraculous, infallible sniffer of the mighty OXNARD to lead them home to the party.  Along the way, UNCLE PETE digs up the first Rudolph The Red-Nosed Reindeer cartoon, some slick singing sisters performing Winter Wonderland, a Christmas short with Paul Winchell and Jerry Mahoney and several other Christmas shorts and great toy commercials (including one for Gaylord, the niftiest mechanical hound dog ever!).  There’s even some vintage footage of UNCLE PETE’s family (including his Mom, Dad, and brother) whooping it up in a Christmas of long ago .

EVER-FAITHFUL OXNARD PREPARES TO SAVE UNCLE PETE ONCE AGAIN

EVER-FAITHFUL OXNARD PREPARES TO SAVE UNCLE PETE ONCE AGAIN
